Julianne Acker-Verney

 

Julianne is currently completing a graduate degree in Women’s and Gender Studies at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She has extensive experience conducting research and policy analysis relating to vulnerable populations including individuals with disabilities and Nova Scotians who experience food insecurity. Julianne is actively involved in social justice issues and organizations in her community including as a member of Halifax Regional Municipality Food Strategy Working Group; a member of the Alexa McDonough Institute (AMI) steering committee; a graduate student representative on the Mount St. Vincent University Social Responsibility working Group ; and, as a Research Assistant to the, Building Inclusive Societies Disability in Global Development project and conference being planned for 2015 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
