For youth ages 18-24 who identify as having a disability.
ILNS in partnership with Affirmative Ventures is offering a 6-month youth day-program to assist youth between the ages of 18 - 24 who identify as having a disability in engaging with their communities and developing employability skills.
The project objectives will help youth with disabilities develop life, essential and employability skills while also promoting the independent living principles of integration and full participation in one's community.
The program will feature mandatory life and essential / employability skills workshops on Wednesdays and Thursdays along with optional social activities on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Participants will help develop individualized action plans for community engagement and potential future employment / volunteer experience. Additionally, participants and their support network will have the option to partake in family sessions with our Program Coordinator to explore community resources, additional training and action plan development.
