This assessment tool can help organizations determine their openness to diversity. It points organizations toward resources that can help them develop a more inclusive organizational culture. The Halifax Community Health Board provided funding for the production of the assessment tool. You can find the tool here.

Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) - Information Sessions

Learn more about this new federally-registered savings plan delivered by the Government of Canada.

RDSP facts:

  • Having an RDSP does not impact federal benefits
  • In Nova Scotia, money in an RDSP does not impact existing provincial social assistance support programs
  • You may be eligible to receive annual grants of up to $3,500 depending upon your contribution and family income
  • Even with no financial contribution, you may be eligible to receive up to $1,000 every year for up to 20 years.

Independent Living Nova Scotia provides one-on-one information about RDSPs to Nova Scotians with disabilities. We also conduct information sessions in the community about RDSPs. For more information, or to set up an information session, contact ILNS, 902-453-0004, 1-877-310-ILNS/4567; or email sherry.costa@ilns.ca. Information sessions are available in English only. Funding for these information sessions is provided by the Government of Canada.
